Memory just split the hardware market in two
The news: On its 26 August earnings call, Nvidia guided fiscal 2028 revenue growth to 70% and said supply, not demand, sets that ceiling. Its capacity commitments through 2032 jumped to $279 billion from $119 billion a quarter earlier, primarily for memory.
Why it matters: The squeeze reaches past AI racks. Conventional DRAM contract prices rose 90% to 95% last quarter, and PC DRAM rose 105% to 110%. US cloud providers hold multi-year price caps; buyers without one absorb the increase.
What to do: Ask your OEMs this week whether your 2027 pricing floats or is locked, then re-quote any refresh you scoped before June.
Boston Scientific's cloud held. Its factories did not.
Boston Scientific detected an intrusion on 25 August and could no longer process or ship customer orders. The company says the activity stayed on certain on-premise systems, and that cloud applications were unaffected. That is the uncomfortable part. Cloud-first resilience covered what stayed up, while the on-prem ERP and warehouse systems that move product stopped. Name three on-prem systems that would halt revenue tomorrow, then check your DR runbook for them.
Your managers are pasting performance reviews into public AI
The Predictive Index surveyed 399 managers and 208 executives. 44% said they had entered employee names and performance details into public AI tools. Only 45% of organizations have a written policy on AI in performance management. That content is named people, ratings and termination rationale, sitting in a consumer account and discoverable in an employment claim. Write the one-page policy this week, and have someone check egress to consumer AI domains from HR groups.

Gitea and JFrog Artifactory both hit CISA's exploited list within three days. The Gitea flaw turns repository write access into shell commands, and the JFrog one scores a medium 5.3, the band most policies defer. Build servers hold deploy credentials and rarely ride the monthly patch cycle, so expect the next mass-exploitation event to start there.
This week DoGood network members are re-quoting 2027 hardware refreshes and asking their OEMs whether that pricing floats. If you run IT at a $100M+ company, that is a call worth making before the quarter closes.
